It seems (judging from what's been going on around here lately, at least) that what counts in the blogosphere is the salacious or crude or kitschy or offensive.
Illustration Friday Night was a group art project that ran for over a year. It was created by Senor Prozac as a response to images being censored and banned on Illustration Friday.
The plan for IFN was to give artists an alternative platform for high-quality work that wasn't just about kitty-cats and cuddly ducklings.
Many of the 2000 images sumbmitted to the site provided a vibrant foil and counterbalance to IF-cutesiness.
It was nominated as a Blog of Note by Blogger in September 2007. Like a lot of things on the internet (and life in general), it ran out of steam in 2008.
