Alice & the Cupcake

I'm working on an Alice-themed solo show at Cranky Yellow, so when I saw this week's Illustration Friday Night topic, I knew what I was going to do immediately.

I want to know how many people can read the writing on the cupcake. Is it obvious enough, or should I rework it? It's such a familiar story to me that it's hard to tell if it's working or not.

Hi guys, my first post here so I hope it's kosher.

I'm from Malaysia where there are 24-hour restaurants that are mostly owned by Indians which we call mamak shops, or just mamaks. They are popular places to go in the middle of the night for an nightcap alfresco. This particular mamak is my frequent haunt and there is a slightly run-down apartment building right across the street with balconies which overlook it. You can't really see inside the balconies from the mamak, but it was a full-moon night and the light can play tricks on you...

One of the pint-sized (4 by 4.5 inches) Siamese cats I painted on cd cases as a gift for the girlfriend's birthday. I just moved into her house ... a doll house really, so small I have to duck through the doorways.
